Rock the Air Guitar and Beer; A Match Made on Tennyson

HIGHLAND — Pop over to The Occidental this Monday for post-premiere drinks to celebrate the Bartender at Large's cinematic debut. Erick Castro and Sean Kenyon will be behind the bar serving Lot No. 40 rye whiskey cocktails.

RINO — Torres Winery and ambassador Isaías López Cobo will visit The Preservery on Tuesday, August 16 to share the story of their sustainable wines. Each wine will be paired with a market board featuring selected cheeses and cured meats. Tickets are available online for $38 and include a welcome wine, five additional pairings, scratch bread, and more.

GOLDEN Barrels & Bottles Brewery gets weird this Tuesday with Strange Craft Brewing and The Truffle Cheese Shop for a beer and cheese pairing. Sample a variety of four five ounce pours paired with select cheeses. An owner from the brewery and cheesemonger from the shop will lead the tap takeover at 5 p.m. Tickets are available online for $25.

GLOBEVILLE Travesty Tuesdays Moovie Night is back and this time Pootie Tang is taking up the Fort Greene patio. The free event features themed drink specials and bites. Come early for a good spot.

RINO — This Wednesday, Crooked Stave releases Batch #200, a red sour beer aged with raspberries and dry hopped with aromatic hops, at its taproom, located at 3350 Brighton Boulevard. Stop by anytime after 5 p.m. to sample to new batch.

PLATT PARK —  Peter Stitcher, aquatic biologist, takes you beneath the surface and into the psyche of the trout during a 2.5 hour class at Platt Park Brewing. Learn more about trout habitats, entomology, stream dynamics, and invertebrate identification at "An Introduction to the Science of Fly Fishing." The class is limited to 20 participants and each seat can be reserved online for $45 each. Starting at 6 p.m., guests will received a color handout and pack of 15 flies to complete the entomological aspect of the evening. It's like science class the way you always dreamed it would be - with beer.

BERKELEY Il Porcellino Salumi will provide the meats and A Call to Arms Brewing will pour the drinks this Wednesday at a select beer and meat pairing. CTA will be pouring one of their latest barrel releases, Frightened Baby Chipmunk, as well. Tickets for the event are available online for $35 each. Show up anytime between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m..

CENTENNIAL — Share some Colorado pride with ViewHouse Centennial on Wednesday for a special Colorado Proud dinner party. From 7 p.m., enjoy the views from the restaurant's open-air dining room and a paired four-course dinner. The evening menu will highlight local meats and produce alongside craft cocktails. Planned courses include braised tender belly pork belly and peppercorn-glazed Colorado stripe bass and lamb chop. Tickets to the 21+ event  are $55 without tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the restaurant at 303.848.3366.

LODO — The National Sports Center for the Disabled hosts its tenth annual Corks and Forks paired dinner on the DaVita Rooftop Terrace and Marketplace on Thursday, August 18 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Sample an array of gourmet dishes, fine wines, and local craft spirits. Tickets are available online for $75 - $105 for general admission and First Taste tickets.

FIVE POINTS — Let down you hair and get ready to shred at the Air Guitar Throwdown hosted by Ratio Beerworks and US Air Guitar this Thursday. If you think you've got the stuff, send in a video of your most rad routine for a chance for two to be selected to compete against US Air Guitar pros in the official throwdown. GLOBEVILLE — This Thursday at Globe Hall, bask in the sweet feelings of failure with some of Denver's most transparent and humble entrepreneurs for the fourth edition of Fuck Up Nights Denver. Hear the stories of non-success from Matt Selby of Punch Bowl Social, Shauna Lott from The Long I Pie Shop, and Jeremy Priest with Mark Johnson of Knotty Tie Co. for $10. Tickets can be purchased online and include one free PBR.

RINO — Vinyl Me partners with Black Shirt Brewing on Thursday for another edition of The Spins! listening party in honor of My Morning Jacket's Z album. The evening starts off with a new brew, the "Box of Boom" Farmhouse Triple IPA, inspired by MMJ. Stop by the beer garden anytime between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. for a musically inspired evening.
