Chef Joe Troupe announced yesterday that after two years he will shutter his restaurant, Amass, at the end of this week. A neighborhood French bistro, Amass launched in September 2014 in the 1,250 square foot space that housed Corner House for a short period of time.

The food at the Jefferson Park bistro focused on classic French dishes, the kind that the chef and owner loved the most, from chicken liver mousse to duck rillettes and from coq au vin to boeuf Bourguignon.

The restaurant posted this announcement on its Facebook page:

Hello Friends,
I would like to thank everyone for all of their love and support for the past two years. Unfortunately, the day has come that we will be closing Amass. We have the most amazing guests and are so very blessed for each of you that has walked through our doors. We will be here through the end of the week and would love a chance to say our goodbyes. We'll miss Jefferson Park and all of you like crazy!
