In less than a week, the Broadway outpost of The Walnut Room will shutter, The Denver Post reported. The owner of the American pizza spot and music venue, John Burr, decided to forgo a lease renewal, particularly in light of an increase he was confronted with.

Instead of juggling the two locations, Burr is choosing to focus on the other location set at 3131 Walnut Street. That original Walnut Room opened its doors in Denver's River North neighborhood in 2005, at a time when the area was not confronted with the growth it has seen in the last several years. Now, Burr sees it as the best outlet for his efforts.

The 1,900 square foot Broadway location opened in 2009 in a space that underwent significant renovations after being home to Freaky's. Since then, it featured the same kind of thin crust pizza that the other location served, plus salads and sandwiches among other things. Delivery was offered and lunch and dinner were served. Until it closes on August 28, this outpost has modified its hours, and now opens at 4 p.m.
