Twelve year old Mona's, a restaurant that served breakfast and lunch on 15th Street has closed its doors. A sign on the door says that renovations are in process and the spot will be back on September 1, but sources from inside the spot shared that the place is gone forever. The disconnected phone line and a dead link to the website confirm that dire statement.
On the other side of town, Flow Juice Bar closed its doors, once again. The Houston-born business, sister concept to Max's Wine Dive next door, first opened its doors in May 2015 at 208 East 7th Avenue. It closed temporarily in the winter time and returned with a revamped menu in May. This time, it looks like the shutter is permanent.
In recent weeks, several other spots called it quits in Denver. Amass closed in Jefferson Park, Black Pearl shuttered on Old South Pearl Street, Osaka Ramen turned the lights off at its Cherry Creek location, and John Holly's Asian Bistro said good bye to its Wash Park location.
