Talented chef Gregory Gourdet, a runner up in Bravo's Top Chef Season 12, is officially launching the second edition of Departure today in Cherry Creek North. A modern Asian-inspired eatery, the restaurant got its start in Portland inside the Nines Hotel. Its Mile High City counterpart builds upon the best original elements, but has a unique identity and new additions, most notably lunch and dim sum brunch service.
The travel-inspired space, designed by Skylab Architecture, opens with a large white bar and offers a variety of seating arrangements. Grab a seat at the intimate sushi counter, enjoy a cocktail in the lounge, see the action up close at the binchotan counter, or - if you are really lucky - snag the ultra cool six-person private room. No matter where you seat, the creative food and fun drinks will sure make you want to return.
Last week, Eater shared details of the restaurant and Gourdet, the culinary director of the new concept, gave readers an exclusive tour on Facebook Live. All that is available here. Photographer Adam Larkey took a tour of the posh space; here's what he captured:
