The end of September brings excitement and suspense for Denver's top chefs because the October issue of 5280 Magazine, along with its list of Best 25 Restaurants, approaches its release.

For the seventh year in a row, longtime food editor Amanda Faison selected 25 restaurants —some new, some old — naming them as the best ones in Mile High City's dining. The highly anticipated issue will be available on September 28, but waiting isn't everyone's strength so we'll make it a little easier by revealing four of the restaurants included, three returning ones and a new one.

Oak at Fourteenth, Bittersweet, The Plimoth return to the list while Bar Dough, which opened less than a year ago joins it.

On October 2 from 6 to 9 p.m., the magazine will honor our culinary scene with 5280 Dines, a food and booze centric bash that will take place at The Hangar at Stanley Marketplace. Guests will have the chance to meet and mingle with some of Denver's top chefs, as well as indulge in tastes from restaurants featured on the list, including those listed above. Grateful Bread, Mad Greens, Il Porcellino, and Miette et Chocolat will also be serving at the event and the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra will be providing live music on site.

Tickets are $75; but the first 30 Eater readers to use the code 5280FRIENDS will get $5 off. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tennyson Center for Children.
