Avelina and Matsuhisa Debut Lunch Service

Avelina Starts Serving Weekday Lunch

Three weeks old, LoDo restaurant Avelina, helmed by culinary power couple John Broening and Yasmin Lozada-Hissom began lunch service yesterday, September 26. The generous menu serves on weekdays includes a wide variety of options from porchetta sandwiches to roasted vegetables sandwiches, and from ancient grains salad to a shrimp salad.

Cherry Creek's Matsuhisa Joins the Lunch Games

There are now three outposts of the Japanese restaurant Matsuhisa and only the newest one in Denver serves lunch. Guests can choose from classic starters like the Nobu taco or spicy tuna, the noodles and soups, including the chilled house made soba, the donburi (Japanese rice bowls), or the wide variety of bento boxes offered.

Teller Bar Reintroduces Theatre Cocktail Series

Located in the lobby of the Renaissance Denver Downtown, Teller Bar has re-introduced a series of cocktails inspired by the Broadway musicals slated to hit the Denver performing arts scene this fall. The series will kick off with the September 27 debut of "Cabaret."

New Fall Cocktails at the Crimson Room

The LoDo underground bar is ringing in fall with a new cocktail menu. Highlights include the Maiden Voyage, made with coconut milk, dark rum, macadamia nut liquor, lime, orgeat, and banana liquor and the Body and Soul (pictured above), created with vanilla vodka, chocolate liquor, cream, cherry juice, hazelnut biscotti, and liquid nitrogen. Small bites and desserts plus live music are a great compliment to the drinks crafted table-side on vintage bar carts.

Fall is in the air at Baur's too

Later this week, Baur's is launching its fall menu. The Downtown spot will serve a variety of flatbreads as well as roasted acorn squash with butternut squash caponata; a double cut bone-in pork chop, with creamy polenta, sautéed and pickled chard; and cavatelli gratin with red wine braised beef, three cheese blend, and spicy marinara, served with ciabatta.
