Mile High Hamburger Mary’s Launched in Uptown

Happy hour and dinner are on, lunch will follow

Andra Zeppelin

It’s a kooky sports bar with a classic colorful gay accent brought by the Hamburger Mary's franchise, which has 15 locations nationwide. The Mile High version of the burger-focused venue opened its doors ever so softly in the quirky three-house space that formerly housed The B Side on 17th and Humboldt.

Behind the venture are five friends and business partners: David Zahradnik, Christopher Maluck, John Skogstad, Mark Price, and Jason Hardin. Manager Adriana Parkinson, who recently moved back to Colorado from Iowa, spent the last couple of months breathing new life into the space by adding eccentric elements that came from vintage and antique stores.

The space features multiple kinds of eye-catching wallpaper, tens upon tens of frames holding a variety of images or sports memorabilia, vintage tennis rackets, big heeled-shoes on which checks are delivered, plus 21 brand new high-definition TVs, where sports will be shown on a regular basis. Burgers, salads, sandwiches, and more, all made in the scratch-kitchen are complemented by an extensive booze list complete with a serious tap beer selection.

Go for happy hour or dinner today, catch the Broncos game there this weekend, and keep an eye out for the addition of lunch service next week.
