The family-friendly gentrified neighborhood that is the Lower Highland was the site of a robbery at gun point on Saturday, January 21, Westword reported. Between 1 and 1:30 a.m., The Fat Jack's Super Subs LoHi outpost located at 3326 Tejon Street was robbed, according to owner Kyle Fabra.
"Two guys came in dressed in red with over-sized hoodies on — one with a gun and one with a knife," Fabra said. No one was hurt at the late-night sub shop that operates till 2 a.m. because the employees complied with the requests of the perpetrators and hanged over the cash register. There are currently no suspects in the case. Police were called and arrived at the scene after the incident.
Back in May, when Fat Jacks was located a couple of blocks away, its current next door neighbor, Western Daughters, had its front window broken. A computer and an ipad were stollen. There were no cameras at Western Daughters back then and none at Fat Jack's last weekend but the latter business committed to installing some.
