Common Grounds Closes, Logan Coffee House Opens

There is still coffee flowing, just in a different place

After nearly two decades in LoDo, Common Grounds Coffeehouse called it quits on its 17th and Wazee location, BusinessDen reported. December 30 was the last day for the operation owned by Mary and Lisa Rogers. The two founded the original Common Grounds in West Highlands in 1992 and later expanded in LoDo in 1999. The original location on Highland Square shuttered a couple of years back after rents increased. An outpost of the coffee shop is still operating in Sunnyside at 2149 West 44th Avenue.

On the other side of town, at the Stanley Marketplace, Logan Coffeehouse is now open. The nearly four year old roastery and coffee shop started brewing caffeine-centric beverages on January 2. Other food and beverage-related businesses that have launched at the Stanley so far include Comida, Cheluna Brewing Company, Miette et Chocolat, and the Stanley Beer Hall. Over the next few weeks, more tenants are slated to open their doors to guests.
