One of Denver's hottest spots, Departure is packed most nights and definitely buzzing on the weekends. The restaurant, which has a first location in Portland, is located in the same building as Halcyon, a fun upscale hotel, and centrally in the posh Cherry Creek area. That bring it the benefits of a mix of a local and traveler clientele that dresses up, enjoys cocktails, and often congregates around the big white bar that dominates the entry.
The hostesses gracefully get guests situation around the several dining areas, the kitchen is slammed, and the energy makes you want to return in no time. When you do, be sure to try some new things from the Pan-Asian-influenced menu led by chef Gregory Gourdet. Some of our favorites are the tom yum, the black pepper chicken, the kampachi sashimi, and the whole crispy sea bass.
