Pussy Riot Beer Rings in the Presidential Inauguration

A donation from each beer will be made to One Colorado

Goldspot Brewing Company

Berkeley's Goldspot Brewing Company will celebrate its second anniversary in February, but this month, the dynamic business is practicing political activism through beer. On Friday, January 20, the day of Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, Goldspot is launching the first batch of Making Noise: A Pussy Riot Beer. The name plays on the all-female Russian punk band famous for human rights activism, among other things.

Here's how the event and the brew are described by the makers:

We made a beer that you may have heard about. This beer works to combat the hate and oppression while also lending support and solidarity to the fight for equality. We believe in this beautiful community, and we feel it is necessary to work together to protect it. We believe in an America that celebrates its diversity, an America that protects and supports anyone regardless of sexual orientation, gender, identity, race, religious views or immigration status.

$1 from each beer sold out of our taproom will be donated to One Colorado, who will be on hand to talk about all the wonderful work that they do in our community.

We'll have a food truck on hand to keep you full and live music that night starting around 7:00.

Please join us on Inauguration Day to raise a glass in solidarity with an eye toward working to make our world a better place for everyone.
