By the time Next Door American Eatery opens in Longmont on Tuesday, its parent The Kitchen will operate 13 restaurants across Colorado, Illinois, and Tennessee.
And by the end of this year or early next, the Boulder-based restaurant group will open two more operations in Indiana, beginning an expansion across the Midwest. The Kitchen’s most recent Colorado endeavor, Hedge Row, opened over the summer in Cherry Creek.
This latest Longmont eatery is The Kitchen’s sixth Next Door, and, located within a shopping plaza that also features Whole Foods, it is most similar to other neighborhood outposts in Stapleton and Glendale.
Next Door offers a lower price point and more casual setting than its Kitchen restaurant counterparts, while still featuring a modern design and sourcing local food.
Menu items across all locations include snacks to share, such as kale chips and fingerling potato smashers ($4 to $8); roasted veggie or wild-caught Alaskan salmon bowls ($12 and $19); and a 50/50 burger with Cremini mushrooms and Koberstein ground beef ($12). Colorado breweries are represented across ten taps, wines mostly from California are kegged, and a full bar serves $7 to $11 cocktails.
Starting Tuesday Next Door will open daily at 11 a.m. for lunch, happy hour, and dinner at 1232 S. Hover St., #c-400, Longmont.
