A kitchen fire Wednesday at Colterra Food & Wine in Niwot has closed the restaurant until further notice.
No one was injured in the fire, and the cause is still unknown. Damages are “extensive,” according to the restaurant.
Colterra chef Bradford Heap released the following statement:
“I’d like to thank the Mountain View Fire Department for responding so quickly and doing a great job putting the fire out. We’re thankful no one was in the building and no one was hurt. While the damage was extensive, we look forward to the next chapter for Colterra.”
The Niwot restaurant is known for southern French and northern Italian fare served in a cozy setting. Chef Heap also owns Wild Standard and Salt restaurants in Boulder. He has been nominated for a James Beard “Best Chef of the Southwest” award.
