Little Man Ice Cream’s forthcoming Stapleton sweet shop, The Constellation, is now pushed back to early 2018, despite earlier predictions that the confectionary would open in the fall. Like other Little Man ventures, The Constellation Ice Cream will offer freshly made ice cream, sorbet, waffle cones, and other novelties such as the Baked Alaska ice cream pop.
An international team of designers, engineers, and architects from four different countries is working on the new Eastbridge neighborhood spot. Nodding to the history of Stapleton International Airport, Constellation will feature a 75-foot replica wing of Lockheed Constellation, a classic 20th-century passenger aircraft, as well as other artifacts of the Pan-Am era. The ice cream shop aims to satisfy Denverites’ winter hankerings with a walk-up kiosk and outdoor patio peppered with heat lamps and a fire pit, so that it will never be too cold to snag a scoop.
Constellation Ice Cream will also start a Scoop for Scoop program and donate a percentage of its proceeds to a local nonprofit organization. The program, like other touches to the shop, reflects The Little Man team’s hope that Constellation will be a gathering place and sweet treat for the Stapleton community.
