Longtime Denver restaurateur Kevin Taylor will open his latest concept downtown in 2018. After branching out to Broomfield last summer with Hickory & Ash and then closing Palettes in the fall after a 20-year run at the Denver Art Museum, Taylor is ready to open again. This time it will be a Mediterranean restaurant helmed by chef and business partner Austin Cueto.

Cueto’s menu will feature handmade pastas and pizzas, seafood and crudo, and regional dishes such as porchetta and branzino. Customers can expect a sprawling 6,000-square-foot “coastal” themed dining room at the base of the Denver Place building at 19th and Curtis Streets. Mila will replace Urban Roadhouse Downtown.

The new restaurant will offer another weekday lunch, happy hour, and dinner spot in a neighborhood that already counts Elway’s, Panzano, and Guard and Grace among its dining destinations. Elsewhere downtown, Taylor runs Limelight Supper Club & Lounge at the Performing Arts Complex and Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House. Hickory & Ash is Taylor’s first new collaboration with his son Ryan, who serves as the Broomfield restaurant’s executive chef.
