Josh Sevy creates tree-inspired craft cocktails at Tatarian, which opened Tuesday at 4024 Tennyson Street

Tatarian, the latest cocktail bar by the owners of Arvada Tavern and Union Lodge No. 1, opened Tuesday on Berkeley’s Tennyson Street. The nature-inspired neighborhood spot is helmed by Josh Sevy, a former Tavern barman. He has created all tree-inspired cocktails for the new menu, focusing on herbs, roots, and spices as ingredients. Even the bar’s name pays homage to a maple that grows throughout Northwest Denver.
Eater photographer Jonathan Phillips captured the space on its opening night. See some of Sevy’s cocktails, including the Kapok with Irish whiskey, Combier, orgeat, banana-raspberry oleo, pineapple and lime juices, and tiki bitters; and a signature Golden Gate made with amaretto, Fernet Branca, lemon juice, and orgeat.
Check out The Tatarian nightly starting at 5 p.m. at 4024 Tennyson Street. For more information, head to the bar’s website. And don’t forget to swing by Union Lodge for a new drinks menu starting on New Year’s Eve.
