San Francisco was the site of the 8th Annual Good Food Awards, an event and ceremony that took place at the end of January, honoring craft producers in specialty culinary categories such as beer, cheese, spirits, oils and preserves. Five Colorado companies were recognized with the now-coveted distinction.
In the charcuterie category, Avalanche Cheese was honored for its coppa and Il Porcellino Salumi for both its smoked head cheese and its coppa. Cultura Craft Chocolate was included in the chocolate category for its 70% Haiti product. In the cider category, Big B’s, Grizzly Brand Bourbon Barrel Aged Cider was one of 12 honorees. In the pantry category, Red Camper scored an award for its cherry fig mostarda, while Syntax Spirits was named among several other spirits for its Perky Pepper Green Chili Flavored Vodka.
The Good Foods Award has become one of the most influential ones for makers and consumers who value sustainable and responsible business practices. You can find a complete list of those recognized this year right here.
