In its tenth years, Denver FIVE announced its line-up of chefs and beverage professionals who will represent the city through a variety of local special dinners but also appearances to the popular Aspen Food & Wine Classic in June and also at the James Beard House in the fall.
Here they are:
Darrel Truett, Alumni Chef & Executive Chef, Barolo Grill
Elan Wenzel, Sushi Sasa & Chefs Custom Cutlery
Samm Sherman, pastry, formerly of Linger
Mark Dym, Racca’s
Duane Walker, Big Red F
Beverage Team:
Steven Waters, cocktail
Ryan Fletter, Advanced Sommelier, Court of Master Sommeliers & Owner, Barolo Grill
The group was formed in 2008 by Leigh Sullivan of Sullivan Enterprises, a local strategy and public relations company. Over the years, Sullivan featured many well-known local chefs in FIVE including Hosea Rosenberg, Jenna Johansen, and Tyler Wiard. Every year 5 chefs are chosen — including an alumni chef from a past season — along with a beverage team.
"As a third-generation Coloradoan, I take great pride in that family history. Having worked in restaurants since I was 15 years old, I also have a deep, abiding respect for the incredible hard work and skill that goes into providing food and hospitality to the community" says Sullivan.
Stay tuned for announcements on special events.
