But RiNo Beer Garden to open under new operators

Jake's Sports & Spirits site

Every pocket of town deserves its very own neighborhood tavern, with all American grub, cheap drinks, a spot to bring friends or make friends. Prior to 2010, the Five Points communities of Cole, River North, Whittier and Curtis had few casual but inviting places to congregate, so Jake’s Sports & Spirits emerged. However, this Friday, after a six year run, will be Jake’s last, with new operators planning to bring RiNo Beer Garden to the neighborhood this year.

Immersing themselves in the RiNo neighborhood, Jake’s provided a venue for community events, neighborhood association meetings, events for Albert Brooks, Denver City Council President, and cross-promoting the 13th Floor Haunted House and National Western Stock Show.

Serving up lunch, happy hour, dinner and late night, the menu featured an assortment of freshly prepared burgers, appetizers, wings and salads. The 100-seat, dog friendly patio was a hit, along with the 18 HDTVs playing sports ‘round the clock.

RiNo Beer Garden is scheduled to open in the space early- to mid-summer.
