The family-friendly brunch spot will launch this summer

Stapleton darling Four Friends Kitchen is working on opening a second location this summer. Co-owner Tim Thornton shared that the restaurant group recently acquired the space housing Redford’s Tavern, just north of Evans Avenue in the University neighborhood of Denver. Planning on opening before the fall, the attraction will bring the same concept and menu as the Stapleton original, with the second address being 2070 South University Boulevard.

A breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch spot, Four Friends Kitchen finds inspiration in Southern cuisine and describes its fare as contemporary American comfort food. The restaurant was started by four friends, as the name suggests. Kurt and Sarah Pletcher and Genefer and Tim Thornton opened the first location in the Stapleton area in 2015. Their approach to dining - casual, relaxed, welcoming of families and accommodating of children - earned them a quick following in a neighborhood where independent restaurants were a rarity.
