Chef Barbara Lynch – James Beard Award-winner, the only female Relais & Châteaux Grand Chef in North America, and recipient of Food & Wine's "Ten Best New Chefs in America" award, among other honors –will make a special visit to Coohills on May 11 at 7 p.m. for An Evening with Barbara Lynch.
The Boston chef is not cooking. Rather, owner and chef Tom Coohill is offering a five-course menu with wine pairings that pays homage to Lynch. All dishes have been chosen from her 2009 cookbook, Stir: Mixing It Up in the Italian Tradition. Highlights include Menton’s butter soup packed with razor clams and No. 9 Park’s pan-seared duck breast with duck confit.
Attendees will receive a signed copy of Lynch’s new memoir, Out of Line: A Life of Playing with Fire (Atria Books, 2017), which recounts her rise from a hard-knocks South Boston childhood to culinary stardom and community activism. The dinner costs $165 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and includes a signed copy of the memoir. Reservation can be made at 303.623.5700.
