Chef Alex Seidel, owner of the decade old staple Fruition and three year old Mercantile Dining and Provision, collaborated with Lachlan Patterson of Frasca and Pizzeria Locale on a special pizza project. During the month of May only, the two Denver locations of Pizzeria Locale (550 Broadway and , will feature a special creation, the Pizza Carbonara, one that Seidel created specifically for Locale.
The unique pie is inspired by the Carbonara pasta – a Fruition signature dish that never leaves the otherwise seasonal menu – and will feature Fruition Farms’ smoked mozzarella, ricotta, prosciutto, egg yolk, crème fraiche, sweet peas, and red onion.
To kick off the limited menu feature, Pizzeria Locale will host a fundraiser on Wednesday, May 3 from 4 to 9 p.m. to support the Emily Griffith Technical College’s Culinary Quick Start Program. When customers dine at the Broadway location and mention the fundraiser at the register, 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to help groom the next generation of chefs.
