Ian Kleinman, the mastermind behind the sweet molecular-inspired Inventing Room, is bringing back the brick and mortar dessert shop at 29th and Tennyson. Kleinman was pushed out of his first space at 2020 Lawrence Street last fall after only a year in that location.
The 2.0 version, twice the size of the Ballpark original, will launch in SloHi at the end of the summer and will feature some of the custom artwork made from the chef’s grandfather’s farm as seen in its first space. A projected “living wall” and new whimsical dishes including the virtual S’mores Waffle will also be highlights, as will be the outdoor patio and access to underground parking. The private dining experience, Gobblefunk, will be held once a month in the new shop following the opening in August 2017.
“We are very excited for this neighborhood location and the new opportunity ahead of us,” Kleinman said. “The downtime from the old shop gave us a chance to develop lots of new & playful treats and fun creations. We learned quite a bit at the old shop which we can bring along to help us shine and grow at the new locations.”
