Chef and restaurateur Troy Guard will close his Lowry venture, Lucky Cat, after dinner service on Saturday, May 13. The one year old urban Chinese concept located at 7559 E Academy Boulevard replaced Guard’s first concept in that space, Bubu. Guard is not renewing his lease in the complex that also houses Masterpiece Kitchen, North County, and Café Mercato. The team behind TAG Restaurant Group is choosing to focus on its forthcoming summer openings, a third iteration of Los Chingones in Stapleton and FNG in the Highland.
“This was a hard decision – but, ultimately, we felt this concept was unable to perform up to our standards. We want to thank the Lowry community and our guests for the support they’ve shown over the past year. We’d also like to thank our staff for their commitment and dedication to our team – and for sharing their passion with our guests,” Guard said. “It’s always sad to say goodbye to a great concept, but we look forward to serving our guests and the Denver community at our other restaurants.”
