New Bar Comes to Life at Alamo Drafthouse at Sloan’s Lake

Beers, cocktails, and live music are on deck

Barflu

Not only is the Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake open, but BarFly, the theater’s interior bar and lounge, is also in full swing with eats, drinks, and live programming. Located at 4255 W. Colfax Avenue, this venue dedicated to Denver’s literary past is inspired by the film penned by Charles Bukowski, BarFly.

The interior, which can accommodate 112 guests (30 more have room on the patio), features portraits of Beat writers, plus vintage typewriters to carry on the theme. The lineup of beers available includes 32 brews on tap - you guessed - with a focus on local ones, from breweries like Upslope Brewing Company, Ratio, Joyride Brewing, Ska Brewing, and Stem Cider. There are also cocktails and wines available and a selection of snacks as well.

The live programming is a work in progress but the full stage, allows for variety of live performance possibilities from poetry readings to trivia nights, live music to comedy. Steele Blues Band will play its tunes on June 3, Geeks Who Drink will meet there on June 5, and Chiwan Choi will be kicking off BarFly's monthly poetry series on June 7.
