French Bistro Atelier by Radex Open in Uptown

Chef Radek Cerny returns to Denver

Atelier by Radek

Atelier by Radex, an approachable French-influenced restaurant, is now open in the space that Il Posto called home originally. This bistro marks the re-entry into the Denver dining scene of chef Radek Cerny, who has spent the last decade cooking at his staple Boulder restaurant L’Atelier (1739 Pearl Street). But Cerny is no stranger to Denver; longtime residents and diners remember his cuisine from Papillon Cafe and Radex.

With this new City Park restaurant, located at 2011 East 17th Street, the chef taps into his love for French cuisine and offers classic dinner dishes like salade de homard (a lobster salad), Cassoulet d’Agneau (a lamb cassoulet), and Magret de Canard (shaved duck carpaccio) at affordable prices. For lunch, guests will find omeletes, paninis, and soups and salads, but also fancier dishes like Coq Armagnac (chicken breast sautéed with a light brandied pepper sauce) and lobster ravioli.

Drinks are thoughtful yet straightforward. Wine is a highlight and the emphasis on old world selections is not only a match for the menu but also an extra reason to visit.

Reservations can be made at 720-379-5556, but walk-ins are welcome.
