What was originally a second Masterpiece Deli, recently rebranded Masterpiece Luncheonette, will serve its final sandwich, closing its corner location at 1710 Sherman Street, reported the Denver Business Journal.
The Uptown eatery, which opened at the end of 2013, recently got menu revamp that aimed to allow for swift sandwich creation to accommodate on-the-go customers. That change in service speed came alongside the “luncheonette” rebrand.
“Unfortunately we were just unable to make the location work,” stated chef and restaurateur Justin Brunson through a press release. Most Masterpiece Luncheonette employees will be retained at other Brunson projects, the announcement added.
The original Masterpiece location at 1575 Central Street in LoHi will continue serving sandwiches (and more), stacked with speciality meats in creative combinations between toasted breads.
Brunson is planning on upping the ante on his charcuterie program with a 6,000-square-foot Denver-based meat production facility specializing in local deli meats, fresh and cooked sausages, bacon, dried cured salamis, and whole muscle cuts sourced regionally. “...we have opted to focus on growing our other business and opening Rocky Mountain Charcuterie in late 2017,” he shared.
