Less than a year after debuting on South Broadway and after a series of rave reviews and recognition, The Overland bar and pool hall has shut down, reports Westword.
Opened in the former Bushwacker’s Saloon space at 1967 S. Broadway, and owned by hi-dive owners Matty Clark and Josh Terry, as well as Nathaniel Rateliff, Patt Meese and Luke Mossman of Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, the neighborhood watering hole was cool and unpretentious from the start. Serving up food – from Colorado lamb to green chili stew and classic burgers – and quality cocktails, the hang out anchoring the Rosedale and Overland Park areas was expected to gain a fast following of close-by locals.
Rather than duplicate its prior success with the hi-dive, the Overland was intended to be a venue for catching up with friends over a drink, a meal or a game of pool. No word as of yet on what will fill the space looking ahead.
