LandLocked Ales Starts Brewing in Lakewood

It has been a long time coming for these two brewer pals

LandLocked Ales, a new brewery located at 3225 S. Wadsworth in Lakewood, will host its grand opening on June 24.

It has been a long time coming for the new business founded by friends Nick Stafford and Tyler Burgei, who have likely encountered every kind of hurdle an up-and-coming brewery can come across. There was a lease that eventually needed to be passed on because the upgrade was too expensive. There was a lease dispute over an adjacent space the brewery needed to achieve the size desired. And there were permitting delays and construction delays of course for a dream project that started in 2013.

The light at the end of the tunnel is about to reveal low gravity - read low alcohol - beers with big flavors for the sake of hanging out for longer periods of time and enjoying more than two beers before getting a buzz. On deck is a saison, a jasmine blonde ale, and a porter. More will be added and seasonal beers will also be part of the offerings.

On the day of the opening party, scheduled to take place from 12 to 10 p.m., Woodhill Small Batch BBQ will be providing the food.
