The Post to Open Boulder Location This Fall

The Big Red F Restaurant Group will bring its award-winning fried chicken and beer to downtown Boulder this fall with the launch of the The Post Brewing Company at 2027 13th Street. Presently that address belongs to Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place, though lovers of the organic, gluten-free kitchen need not fear, as the health-conscious eatery will not be closing for good, but instead moving one mile east to 2480 Canyon Boulevard.

Chef/Owner of the Big Red F Restaurant Group, Dave Query struck a deal with the owners of Shine – triplets Jill, Jennifer and Jessica Emrich – who announced in early June they intended to move into a smaller location and eliminate the brewery portion of the business. That became the deal-maker for Query and The Post, in need of the beer-making outfit.

This will be The Post’s fourth location, with the restaurant concept headquarters in Lafayette, and posts in Longmont and Denver. In addition to the food and drink offerings, the Boulder base will offer a full calendar of live music.

The latest location will introduce Lead Brewer Nick Tedeschi, who apprenticed under founding The Post’s original Brewmaster Bryan Selders. Brad Landman will join the suds making team as well, formerly working with Wynkoop Brewing Company and other local craft brewers. The kitchen will be headed up by Chef/Partner Brett “Smitty” Smith, who will serve the melt-in-your-mouth gluten-free and roasted bird, along with farm fresh sides and home-made desserts.

The new Post will physically sit in the shadow of Query’s first Boulder restaurant – formerly Q’s – in the Hotel Boulderado, opened in 1991.

Shine’s final day in its current location will be September 17, while Query will take possession of the 13th street location September 20, hoping to be up and running with by Halloween.
