What to Eat and Drink at Element Kitchen & Cocktail

Chef John Tesar is hell-bent on elevating bar food

Element Kitchen & Cocktail opened in July at 1134 Broadway with some pomp and circumstance around it. Self-appointed as “Denver’s only elevated sports bar experience,” the venue got its buzz by bringing famed Dallas chef John Tesar in as a consultant. A former Top Chef alum and four-time James Beard Foundation award finalist, Tesar created a menu focused on seasonal and local ingredients.

On deck is everything from table-side guacamole to deviled eggs, yellowtail with avocado, and vegetable crudités for starters to Vietnamese-style chicken wings, an heirloom tomato salad, and a burger that features Pata Negra Iberico ham. Eater photographer Adam Larkey took some pictures of some of the dishes.

Later this week, the Broadway spot is hosting a watch party for the Mayweather vs. McGregor boxing match. On Saturday, August 26, the highly publicized fight will be shown on 12 big screen TVs as well as a 150-inch projector screen. Tickets, which can be purchased online, are $30 and include reserved seating options ranging from individual bar seating to a six-person table seating.
