It was all about the classic burger for a panel of judges and the popular vote in the eight annual Denver Burger Battle. The Stanley Beer Hall and Stoic & Genuine respectively were crowned as winners of the meaty bash that took place in front of the Tivoli building on the Auraria Campus late last week.
Some 1,600 people gathered to feast on burger creations from 16 of Denver’s best burger makers, with Highland Tap & Burger, the Cherry Cricket, Crave, and Park Burger among them. Honorable mentions after votes were tallied went to Prohibition and Highland & Tap Burger, which tied for the judges’ second place, and The Cherry Cricket, which came in second for the popular vote.
Highlights of the event included lawn games, lots of cocktails made with Bulleit whiskeys, a red carpet photo booth, live 80s tunes from the Six Million Dollar Band, a Colorado-inspired doughnut wall created by Glazed & Confuzed, an appearance from the Hamburgler (and other burger-inspired outfits), desserts from Brider, plus ice cream from Little Man Ice Cream and Sweet Action.
For those times when the burger cravings strike and inspiration on where to dine is low, the Guide to the 20 Best Burgers in Denver can help.
