They only just debuted back in April, but David Bowen's WoodGrain Bagels already has ambitions for multiple Denver locations, with one site prepped and ready for new construction.
Described as a hand-pulled and wood-fired Montreal-style bagel shop, WoodGrain Bagels heads to the Hangar 2 dining district in Lowry, taking over the 1,540-square-foot former home of restaurateur Troy Guard’s Chinese concept Lucky Cat.
Located at 7559 E. Academy Blvd, close to Café Mercato, early design plans follow the Boulder original, with hanging baskets of wood, a slide for fresh bagels to rest and cool and the prospect of a diverse menu including sandwiches such as Vietnamese banh mi and the "Chicken N'Bagels," breakfast omelets, a huevos rancheros Benedict and locals Boxcar Coffee Roasters providing the beans.
While a debut date hasn’t been announced and construction bids were announced last month, future opening hours have already been revealed, dishing out cream cheese and spreads daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and open later until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
