The Egg & I Switches to First Watch in Centennial

A dining switcheroo for the Cherry Knolls community in Centennial, but the breakfast and lunch changeover keeps it in the family.

The Egg & I heads to 6890 S. University Blvd. with its easy to spot umbrellas on outdoor patio will transform into First Watch on Friday, Sept. 22, opening at 7 a.m, and serving daily until 2.30 p.m.

Debuting in California in 1983 and growing to 105 locations, First Watch bought the Centennial-based The Egg & I in 2015, acquiring its 114 outposts. It opened it its first local restaurant in Northglenn two years ago, announcing a planned total of eight future Colorado expansions. Featuring complimentary newspapers, free Wi-Fi access and Sunrise Select Premium Blend Coffee, First Watch likes to say it serves a breakfast, brunch and lunch menu “that doesn’t moonlight with steaks or anything else later in the day.”

Sporting a newly a remodeled interior, on the menu, omelets, pancakes, sandwiches and salads, and unique specialty items like Quinoa Power Bowls, avocado toast and the Chickichanga.
