Four next door neighbors who translated their friendship into the thriving breakfast, brunch, and lunch venture Four Friends Kitchen has now debuted its second location 10 miles south from their Stapleton original.
The family-friendly American eatery with Southern charm takes over the former home of Redford’s Tavern at 2070 S. University Blvd. and replicated its successful menu of Southern-inspired, contemporary American comfort food.
The Four Friends — created by Kurt and Sarah Pletcher and Tim and Genefer Thornton — arrived in Stapleton in 2015 at the E. 29th Ave. Town Center.
On the University neighborhood menu, small plate options such as $6 classic beignets, $5.50 fried green tomatoes or $6 jalapeño chorizo hush puppies.
Breakfast staples include the $10.50 Kitchen Sink with two eggs, a choice of meat, barbecue house potatoes and pancakes or toast. The restaurant also serves a range of Benedicts, hash choices and five selections created with Gayla’s Grits from Shaw Farms in Georgia.
Lunch options include a $10 sunrise beet salad, the Smoky Mountain BLT, Southern fried chicken and waffles, po’boys and the $11 root beer barbecue beef brisket sandwich.
The Four Friends cocktail menu spins its own versions of sangria and margaritas, plus the $5 Beermosa, concocted with a New Belgium Snapshot wheat beer and orange juice.
