Next Door Eatery Almost Ready To Debut in Longmont

Kimbal Musk, the equally ambitious brother to Tesla and SpaceX's Elon Musk, plans for 50 of his Next Door restaurants to be in operation by 2020, with the fifth in Colorado now gearing up for an opening day.

Already serving in Boulder, Glendale, Stapleton and Union Station, Next Door American Eatery is currently hiring at Longmont’s Village at the Peaks and promising to be coming soon to 1232 S. Hover St.

Located close to Pho Huong Viet, and Ozo Coffee company, the high energy restaurant and bar with an urban vibe will take over 3,500 square feet, with room inside for 130 customers and space for 45 more on the outdoor patio.

Pushing to source nearly half of their food from local suppliers found within driving distance of each restaurant, Musk’s other bold mission is to “replace all the T.G.I. Friday's, Applebee's — at a price point that is arguably even lower than those guys.” Previous locations are open daily from 11 a.m. to close, with a 3 to 6 p.m. daily happy hour that kicks starts again at 9 p.m. until the restaurant closes for the night.

On the menu, “snack and share” starters, bowls, sandwiches, soups, salads and burgers, plus daily specials, such as Baja fish tacos, a mushroom ragout and a pork green chili.
