Following a kitchen fire Thursday, Sept. 21, at the just-opened Tavernetta, the latest creation from the Frasca team, the restaurant temporarily shuttered to make repairs.
As of yesterday, the cause of the fire had yet to be determined, however the necessary repairs will render the restaurant closed until “later this fall,” according to the press team. The new Italian eatery opened on Sept. 13.
On a Denver Startup Week panel Monday, Sept. 25, chef and partner Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson told the audience it looks as though Tavernetta could be on the mend for up to 10 weeks.
The Denver Fire Department quickly responded and contained the blaze. In the coming weeks, the team will address smoke damage, floor and other woodwork destruction, as well as refurbishing and replacing of kitchen equipment. No one was injured or harmed during the incident.
