Kitchen Table: BBQ & Comfort Food makes a move, surprising many longtime fans with news that the restaurant heads a couple of miles to the southwest to become the new dining attraction at the Goosetown Tavern.
Kitchen Table is already hiring, hoping to debut in mid-October and advising new hires, “this is going to be a rock 'n' roll environment.” A front patio faces the Bluebird Theater across East Colfax Avenue.
Opened by Dave Kilroy in the City Park West neighborhood in late 2013, Kitchen Table has been dropping hints of future plans to its Facebook followers and assures them that the menu will stay the same, with a “few more new items.” The restaurant plans to serve from dinner to late night from Tuesday to Sunday, but lunch may also make the menu by next summer.
Menu items have included plates of brisket, pork ribs, chopped barbecue, and spicy Buffalo sausages, plus sandwiches, side dishes of avocado kale salad and collard greens, along with comfort food choices such as Dave’s meatloaf, chicken and sausage gumbo, and smoked and stuffed poblano chilis.
The restaurant also features a mac and cheese creation that Southern Living magazine declared the best in Colorado.
