Two poke bowl ventures announced back in May originally hoped for summer debuts, but both projects promise to be coming soon to Platte Street, sitting less than a quarter of a mile apart.
Comparing the fast-casual concepts social media feeds, the “handcrafted” bowls of Poke House appear to have the advantage, dropping into a new building at the corner of 17th and Platte Street, next door to the Denver Beer Co.
In addition to create-your-own-bowls, the team hints of future menu items, including chicken katsu, steak with a creamy mac salad, basil popcorn chicken, nacho bowls with marinated tuna and wonton chips, plus lychee lemonade and fruit-nfused teas.
A short walk to the southwest, at the base of an apartment building at 1550 Platte St., Denver Poke Co. installed new exterior signage, but a mid-September Facebook update shows an ongoing interior remodel of the floor, new wall framing and no kitchen equipment yet installed.
