Launched in 2009 by Tracy Zimmer, well before yuppies descended on Denver’s northwest corner now known as RiNo, Hutch & Spoon closed its doors September 8, with transformations coming right and left on the popular 10-block strip of Larimer.
The Monday-through-Friday, breakfast, lunch and chill joint serving an acclaimed curry chicken sandwich and meatloaf cheddar sourdough combo, and featured an impressive spoon display mounted on weathered brick walls inside a 132-year-old building.
In a note on Facebook, Zimmer wrote:
Dear friends, neighbors and customers – Hutch & Spoon Cafe has closed. I will miss all the fantastic meetings and interactions as well as being part of an ever changing neighborhood. It has been a full and lively 8 years. I’m looking forward to adventures ahead! Thanks go out to everyone who ate and drank and supported my business. – Tracy.
