“Swirl Girl” Kendra Anderson readies her first bar for a September debut in RiNo. Bar Helix promises to combine “a little naughty and a lot of sexy” cocktail lounge, with a little restaurant mixed in for good measure.
Seasonal cocktails made with wine-based spirits and paired with “experiential” sweet and savory small plate dishes make the menu along with beers, ciders and sakes.
A large bar, open kitchen, and community tables bring out the convivial side of the lounge, while a mix of banquettes and settees create a more intimate seating toward the back.
Customers walk in to a high-top community table that seats eight at the entrance. The bar features a white quartz top, dark walnut, custom shelving on the bar back with copper accents tile, 3D travertine touches and an antique mirror.
Some smaller round tables flank a small wall that opens to the small courtyard patio. Rounding the corner in the L-shaped space, customers see the open kitchen and then a lounge-like back area with a private booth area, standing drink rails and low coffee-table seating area in shades of cognac, rose gold and black.
With 1,400-square-foot lounge offers room for 75 guests. Bar Helix plans to be open from 4 p.m. to midnight Wednesday to Monday.
