All bacon, all the time is headed to Olde Town Arvada early next year, taking over the recently shuttered Egg Shell space. Operated by Jamie Shotton, expanding from his Westrail Tap & Grill in Lakewood and the The Flying Pig Burger Co. in Littleton roots, the Flying Pig Bacon Co. is now hiring with the aim of an early 2018 debut.

Details are scant, other than confirmation of a bacon-focused future. The Flying Pig Burger Co. replaced Prairie Dog Pub & Grill in April and gives a hint of possible coming attractions on the menu. Bacon-wrapped dates; burgers including the “Spicy Elvis” created with bacon jam, peanut butter and fried jalapeño; and “The Pig Spilt” dessert, created with banana, ice cream and candied bacon could be some of the bacon-focused concoctions.

Located at 5699 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. since 1988, Egg Shell’s breakfast and brunch space included an outdoor patio until it closed in early August. In a heartfelt goodbye note, staff revealed a major reason for the closure was finding, “dependable, responsible help” but also left open the possibility “there just may be an Eggshell 2.0, and if there is, you’ll be the first to know.”
