Stoney’s Uptown Joint, a spinoff of Stoney’s Bar & Grill at West 11th Avenue and Lincoln Street, will open in the former Argyll Whiskey Beer Uptown location before the end of 2017, reports Business Den.
After nearly two decades of lusting after the property at the corner of 17th Avenue and Downing Street, Stoney Jesseph landed the spot. He anticipates the neighborhood will warmly welcome a new sports bar, noting a dearth of such offerings following Tavern Uptown’s temporary closure last year, whilst a 315-unit apartment complex is under construction.
Jesseph and Will Trautman will collaborate on the project, aiming to seat 200 drinkers and diners, nearly one-third the size of the original Capitol Hill Stoney’s. The new team plans to remodel the space with an old-school look and feel, while garage doors will replace the enclosed patio. Stoney’s will feature more than 20 beers on tap and multiple screens for sports fans to indulge.
Before Argyll retained the space — beginning in 2013 — Las Margaritas called the address at 1035 E. 17th Ave. home for nearly 25 years.
The goal is to open the second Stoney’s before the end of football season.
