The businesses inside Denver Central Market are having quite a year, from internal expansions to airport openings and other outside endeavors. This winter, the people behind the RiNo food hall’s Curio bar and Green Seed market are expanding their footprint to a historic downtown building. They’ll open Brass Tacks, a new restaurant and bar, inside the old Blake Street Vault.
Details are still sparse, but drinkers can expect the same affordable, quality cocktails of Central Market’s Curio, as well as lunch bowls and salads similar to those sold at Green Seed. Chef Zach Spott also is planning on shareable dinner plates; the LoDo bar and restaurant will open daily for lunch and dinner service and regular and late-night happy hours. Before joining the Denver Central Market team, Curio co-owner Stuart Jensen managed bar programs at Mercantile and Green Russell.
Blake Street Vault closed last January after a decade in Lower Downtown at 1526 Blake Street. Next door, Italian restaurant Jovanina’s just opened, serving pasta plates and coal-fired meats and vegetables in a classy, old-world setting.
