Chicago-born Giordano’s is officially serving up deep dish pizza on Denver’s 16th Street Mall. The 44-year-old pizzeria with a devout following and locations across nine states opened its first Colorado outpost this month, according to the Denver Post. It’s located at 1600 California Street.
Giordano’s is known to Chicagoans for its massive cheese- and topping-stuffed pizzas — sauce on the top — that can ship across the country to die-hard fans in two-, four-, and six-packs. (Cubs memorabilia included in some holiday gifts.) A few years back, the brand also dabbled in a Chicago-style hot dog personal pie. But the original pizza here is famous for its gut-busting combination of “cheese, cheese, sauce, and more cheese,” according to Eater Chicago.
The Denver Giordano’s is serving this and more from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Other new late-night pizza stops around town include Famous Original J’s and the Engine Room.
