Wine bar expansion

Postino, the Arizona-based wine bar and restaurant with a location in LoHi, has announced another Colorado outpost coming in the summer to Broadway. The new cafe will take over 3,400 square feet at the southwest corner of Broadway and 2nd Avenue, formerly home to Compound bar. Postino’s owners plan to open up the 123-year-old brick space, with large windows and an outdoor patio for all-day wine drinking. Back in April, another Postino Denver location was announced. It’s expected to open by 2020 at the 9th and Colorado development.

Late-night slices

The Engine Room is now serving full pies and pizzas by the slice from a walk-up window in Dairy Block. This is the last of Frank Bonanno’s 16 food and drink stalls to open as part of Milk Market. Late-night eaters can head to Dairy Block’s activated alleyway (between Blake and Wazee and 18th and 19th streets) for a slice until 3 a.m. on weekends. See red, white, and thick Sicilian options.

Bakery relocation

The bad news: After five years inside the Source Market Hall, Babette’s Artisan Breads is leaving on November 21. The good news: Fans of the breads will still find Babette’s in the region; it’s moving to Longmont at 2030 Ionosphere Street, Westword reports. The new bakery should open around January, and it will triple in size, with a new pizza oven and cocktail bar, as well as a 1,700-square-foot rooftop deck. [Westword]
