The Grateful Dead-inspired, North Denver neighborhood hotspot Fire on the Mountain will open a second location inside a former funeral home at 300 South Logan Street, expected by spring 2019.
Owner Andrea West has scoured the Mile High City for more than a year in search of a second location, according to Business Den. With a Wash Park restaurant, she hopes to expand her popular concept and divvy up the lengthy wait lines for wings. West ultimately leased 3,519 square feet in a two-story, mixed-used building that will include a spin studio and second-floor apartment units.
The Portland, Oregon-based, counter-service wing shop planted its first location in West Highland in 2012, featuring a menu of Redbird Farms chicken wings served with homemade sauces. Flavors include mild, medium, and hot, along with more original options like spicy peanut, raspberry habanero, buffalo lime cilantro, and new monthly additions.
Fire on the Mountain offers other fare, too — Colorado grass-fed burgers, soups, salads, and sandwiches, such as the Emma, with chicken tenders doused in blue cheese buffalo sauce. The restaurant is also known for its meat alternatives such as vegan chicken, portobello mushrooms, and seitan.
