Cherry Creek North’s caffeine staple, Aviano Coffee, has launched a second location at 215 St. Paul Street, with an updated look. Often found with a line out the door and snaking out to the street, the original Aviano is just a few blocks away at 244 Detroit Street.
But co-owner Douglas Naiman hopes to expand the brand’s appeal to new clientele, eyeing the new hotels, restaurants, retail spaces, offices, and residences in the immediate vicinity. Calling this second 1,750-square-foot space “edgy” and “unconventional,” he and Saadia Naiman have bathed the interior in murals from Los Angeles-based mixed-media artist Hagop Belian, known for his totems that represent the merging of humans with their respective spirit animals. A 315-square-foot patio connects the interior space with the interior-exterior bar, comfortably hosting more than 30 people.
Founded in 2006 by the Naimans and relocated to Cherry Creek North in 2010, Aviano’s second location will serve the same Intelligentsia coffees as on Detroit Street and eventually also feature its own menu of specialty beverages, including nitro cold brew, tea mocktails, signature matcha infusions, and recipes using Askinosie Chocolate. In addition to Aviano’s current French pastry offerings, the team is looking at options to include vegan and gluten-free snacks. As reported in September, the shop is expected to spawn as many as 60 locations around the state in the years to come following a major investment.
Status: Aviano Coffee at 215 St. Paul Street is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
