Colorado-born Choice Market, a modern convenience store concept, announced its Denver growth plans this week.
The second Choice storefront, expected to open in June 2019, will sit at the ground floor of the new Denver Housing Authority headquarters at 10th Avenue and Osage Street in the Mariposa neighborhood. A third, 2,700-square-foot Choice location should open by next fall on Colfax Avenue. It will feature fuel pumps, electric vehicle supercharging, a bike share terminal, and electric scooter stations. Choice Market’s original quick-service and tech-friendly grocery opened at North Broadway and 18th Avenue in 2017.
Along with serving fresh produce, groceries, and prepared foods, Choice plans to hire at-risk youth in its respective neighborhoods to train them for careers in the culinary arts. The market’s convenience-store business model will also encompass deliveries of meals, full-strength beer (thanks to pending changes to state liquor laws), and groceries. Rosenberg’s Bagels, Corvus Coffee, Maria Empanada, Tender Belly, and the Real Dill are among Choice’s Colorado purveyors. A grab-and-go menu offers bowls, sandwiches, flatbreads, and breakfast tortas.
